I earned a Master of Education in counseling from the University of North Texas and am licensed as an LPC. I am also trained to provide Emotional Transformation Therapy (ETT). I am a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP). I have several years experience as an inpatient therapist and unit manager, specializing in trauma, substance abuse, and self-injury. In 2008 I formed HOPE Strategies Counseling, LLC where I have had the gift of working with individuals and families in our community for over 15 years.
I believe in a holistic approach to counseling, on that is collaborative and leaves no stone unturned, until we figure it out. I work with adolescents, adults, families, and couples, treating mood disorders and addressing life challenges. I believe, as an LPC trained in all areas of mental health, it is my duty and privilege to work with all individuals, not expecting a client to arrive with all the answers, but working together to identify the issues and creating a plan for success.

I have been counseling and helping others for over 10 years. I attended Harding University in Searcy, AR with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and Amberton University in Garland, TX with a Master of Arts degree in Professional Counseling. I am a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP).
While I am completely comfortable helping others in all walks of life with any number of mental health issues, I specialize and have a passion to work with children and adolescents. I have several years of experience working in inpatient and partial outpatient hospital settings and joined the office here in 2011. It is my belief that when working with a child or adolescent that you also work closely along with the parent/guardian as well. It is hard enough being a child or parent/guardian in today's world and sometimes we need someone to talk to and help us figure things out.
Rather than listening to my views of advice, I believe in open communication and working alongside those in my office to help find the answers they are looking for. Counseling is a process, and at times a journey, which I am excited to help others work through.
In sessions I use a variety of techniques and skills to ease the process and am open to ideas on how to make the process the most effective for my clients. I have 2 dogs that will occasionally come to offer support as well. Casey is a long haired golden dachshund and Grace is a rescued French Bulldog.
